Retail Lot

Since we open the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we begin cutting trees a day or two beforehand. We continue cutting as we need to in order to maintain a fresh supply for our customers.

When we harvest the trees, we do not bale them. They are loaded on hay wagons in the field and brought to our farm for processing. Processing involves shaking the tree to dislodge as much natural needle shed as possible. The trees are measured and a tag is attached to a branch. The tag will list the species of tree, size of tree, and price for that tree. The tree is then drilled for a Stand Strait stand. It is not necessary to use this type of stand, but if you do, the hole is already in the bottom for your convenience. The tree is then displayed on our tree lot.

Our tree lot will display approximately 70-80 trees at a time. When a tree is sold and the peg is empty, another tree is placed on that peg. When we find that our inventory is getting low, we will harvest more trees. This will ensure that our customers have a variety of fresh cut trees to choose from to decorate their home for the holiday season.

If you can’t make the trip, have a friend or family member get your tree for you.

A tradition for our gang from Philadelphia – breakfast at Cracker Barrel before tree selection.

Sharon blows off the snow so customers can see the trees better (and not get too wet).
